RELATIVES have been left distraught after a 4ft hole was dug next to a couple's grave in what is thought to be an attempt to steal jewellery from the casket.The culprits then filled in the crater next to Betty and Henry Brazil's final resting place with boxes and covered them with soil in an attempt to conceal their crime.Family members said no valuables are present in the casket and are now keeping vigil at the graveside in case the culprits return "to finish the job".Staff at the...

Three men have been arrested in Burford in connection with reported hare coursing. Gloucestershire Police made the arrests at 7.30am on Sunday, September 15 in fields just off the A40. The men, aged 20, 21 and 23, all from Gwent in South Wales were arrested on suspicion of trespassing on private land in the search of game. They will appear at court on a date to be fixed.

A man has been charged in connection with an attempted robbery in Stroud yesterday (September 17). The incident happened at around 2.15pm on Tuesday September 17 at a shop on Slad Road in the town. 37 year-old Alexander Charlamow of Russell Street Stroud has been charged with attempted robbery and possession of a knife or sharp pointed article in a public place.
