Off-duty paramedics probably saved the life of a man victim to vicious jealousy-fuelled beating with a baseball bat in Cheltenham, a court heard.
After John Higbey launched the attack outside a Cheltenham nightclub, the ambulance workers saved his target's life by clearing his airways as he struggled to breathe after one of the blows fractured the thyroid cartilage in his neck, Gloucester Crown Court was told.
