WHEN a couple offered a failed gambler cash for a motorhome, he took a deposit - then refused to hand it back after he sold it to someone else.
Terry Smith had posted the £7,500 camper on eBay and Gumtree and when two buyers turned up at the same time, he took a £300 deposit with no receipt and saw an opportunity to make an illegal gain, Stroud Magistrates' Court heard.
The couple he had ripped off called police and he later apologised, paid the money back and handed them chocolates...
