An isolated man spent his daytime working and his evenings sat alone in his Innsworth home smoking cannabis, a court heard.
Building foreman Duncan Cooper smoked around £200 worth of the drug a week and created a sophisticated set up to grow the drug from his bedrooms.
Police busted the 49-year-old's Swallow Crescent home on October 25, last year and discovered £11,700 of the drug growing.
Prosecutor Simon Goodman said despite the quantity there was no evidence Cooper was dealing.
