Christopher Leyshon from Cinderford has appeared at court charged with trying to murder a Gloucestershire police officer.
The 28-year-old has been remanded in custody to await trial after he pleaded not guilty at the city's crown court yesterday.
Leyshon, of Ashmead Road, denied trying to kill PC Edward Dawkins on September 10 last year.
It is alleged he stabbed the officer numerous times with a knife at his home. PC Dawkins suffered minor injuries.
