POLICE are whittling down more than 1,500 hopefuls who applied to get one of 24 new officer posts at Gloucestershire Constabulary.
The force is on the look-out for new recruits for the first time in three years and 1,650 – the equivalent of nearly 70 people per job available – expressed an interest in joining the police.
Following the registration, 857 people were invited to fill in an online assessment.
